Neusoft Institute of Information was approved to operate by the Ministry of Education of China. It is jointly found by Northeastern University and Neusoft Group according to new education mode. It is the independently run college of Northeastern University. The Institute takes advantage of computer science subject of Northeastern Unviersity, IT industry of Neusoft Group and environment of Dalian Software Park. It offers full-time Bachelor Degree Program, in which we have Computer Science and Technology Department, IT and Business Management Department, Digital Art Department, Embedded System Engineering Department, English Department and Japanese Department.

The Institute also provides Master Degree Programs (Software Engineering) of Northeastern University. Besides, we also provides international students education.

Implement Career-driven Curricula: Based on the advantages in industry and computer subject matter, the institlite  implements the "Converse Derivation flow for Industry-Oriented Curriculum Design", in essence, adjusting the knowledge structure and curriculum in accordance with market demand. Application-oriented Education System: To implement "1321" instruction model and credit management system hich contains one academic year of three semesters, twosemesters of case-based theory study and one semester of internship. Students will defend their thesis after each phase of study: theory, technology, and project and graduation design. Construction of Open Laboratory: With more than 30,000 information nodes spreading over the campus, there are three net centers, 140 multi-media classrooms,three digital language laboratories, four enterprise laboratories and three application-oriented laboratories. The institute has constructed an internet-based virtual laboratory and online education management system, and also imports more than 400 e-learning courses from the Skillsoft, a famous company from the USA. SOVO (Students Office & Venture Office)-bridge Between University and Enterprise: The institute founded SOVO ¡ª¡ªundergraduate start-up center, organizing and adding applicants into the "virtual company". SOVO provides students opportunities to start up their career and to realize the seamless link with industry when they graduate from campus. To Import and Promote IBT (Industry-based Training): In the industry-based training program,  credit obtained from IBT and regular curriculum can be exchanged and when classifying students into different majors, the institute will consider the demand of enterprises into the curriculum design. Dual-payment System" for Academic Faculty with Experience in both Teaching and Software Developing: invitation extended to 100 plus professionals with rich industry experience and excellent teaching ability from Neusoft, Cisco, SAP and etc to be our instructors adopting the "dual-payment system"; employing famous IT academicians each year; selection of teachers for involvement in Neusoft R&D in order to enhance their knowledge 20%-30% per year.

Computer Science and Technology Dept. Desiring to "strengthen fundamental study skills, focusing on students' practice, and broadens the scope of professional knowledge", our educational philosophy is committed to developing international, practical and individual comprehensive talents with an excellent command of knowledge in computer software, embedded systems, the network and project management. This department has formed a highly qualified, well-educated teaching team that provides a rich teaching experience as well as practical experience. Through wide and close collaborations with Intel, IBM, Microsoft, Sun, etc and the joint establishment of a number of comprehensive laboratories, students can receive an overall systematic and specialized training degree. This enables them to obtain the ability to gain experience, practice team work, learn communication skills and foreign languages. Students may also engage in relevant development, application and maintenance of computer science technology fields.

Information Technology and Business Management Dept. This department engages in applying information technology into business management; nurtures talent for business management; and teaches Chinese based information technology along with management application. The faculty team is composed of doctors, masters, and IT experts from our Neusoft Group. Students will not only gain an abundant knowledge of economic management and computers but will also be trained in information resource management, information system  analysis, design, software development and system maintenance.

Digital Art Dept. Combining art and computer technology to meet the demands of the animation employee market,this department is backed by the IT advances of the institute. The major, Animation Design, develops pragmatic and comprehensive talents in animation design, multimedia design, senior webpage design, movie & television title design etc. The department focuses their attention on building a "solid foundation, wide inlet, specific skills, along with multiple opportunities" to produce animation as a curriculum strategy. To strengthen the practical ability of the students, the department has provided 2D, 3D, image & graphics, along with solid modeling laboratories. Students may engage in editing and design in the fields of movie & TV animation and advertisement.

Embedded System Engineering Dept. This Department specializes in teaching and research in the areas of embedded system engineering, which includes but is not limited to embedded systems design and development, integrated circuits design and applications, and wireless communications. . The Department provides students with well-rounded educational programs that focus on a solid theoretical foundation, hands-on experience, and problem-solving skills. Students who complete these programs shall be able to take on engineering positions in software/hardware design, development, testing, technical support, and higher education of embedded systems and electronic systems in the sectors of computers, electronics, communication, control,  aerospace, instrumentation etc.

English Dept. This department focuses on nurturing the students' communication ability by strengthening their oral speaking skills. All oral English or oral Japanese classes are taught by qualified foreign teachers. In addition, the department combines traditional English teaching with advanced educational technology. The department can provide numerous learning resources for the students to cultivate their combined talents of English and IT skills. Students, will not only gain an abundant knowledge in the English language, but in business English and computer English as well.  They will also be given tremendous opportunity to practice their English speaking abilities in foreign affairs, management, market and business which are all relevant to information technology.

Japanese Dept. This department is to nurture the students' talents in both Japanese & IT applied skills. The curriculum focus is on the students' Japanese and computer applied abilities which are learned in the language lab., Japanese data input lab., call center service lab., the network study platform, and the Japanese corner.  These all provide a necessary environment of educational support. Students will also have opportunities to engage in Japanese information processing, automation office secretary, IT project assistant, translation and management of Japanese enterprises. In addition they will learn of China-Japan joint venture enterprises as well as the function of these governments and organizations.

Laboratories:

The specialized laboratories in our institute with advanced equipment and case-based laboratory teaching system, have assured the implementation of the students' experiments.

Laboratories in several domains include:

Computer System Lab,   Computer Network Lab, Embedded System Lab,  Electric & Electrocircuit Lab,  Multimedia Technology Lab,   Language Lab,   Business Management Lab. Meanwhile, the institute set up joint labs respectively, such as SUN, HP, Matushita Electric Works, EPSON. LabForm, composed by the campus intranet, the servers' group and students' laptops can support a number of software & hardware development experiments based on analogue and e-learning technology.

There are over 500,000 paperback and e-books in our e-library. Each student has a laptop, so they can access high-speed campus intranet anytime anywhere.
